Can’t wait for their intimate London wedding. Inese’s hair and make up is by the ever fabulous Nicky at Pretty Pout.

This town is full of different places to shoot and I don’t think I’ll tire of it. And each couple bring their own personality to the photos so I never have to feel like I’m doing the same thing even though I might be shooting on the same stretch of beach.

Lucy and Rick came to see me on a rainy day and we hit the seafront for some piccies. Keep an eye out for their Dulwich College wedding in Aug!

It’s mainly camera basics – understanding how your camera works and, in layman’s terms, how to take it onto manual and finally understand how to get the type of shots you want. But also a bit of shooting and Lightroom and file workflow.

I have shot various bits for Louise of Buttercup Days before but she’s relaunching her blog very soon and she was determined to start to learn how to photograph food like she’d seen on blogs. I’ve got a fair bit of experience with food photography and I headed to her with some white polystyrene and we firstly went through the technical bit and then we spent the day shooting the amazing food Louise had curated the day before. If you a slightest fan of food, head on over to her blog and follow her as I know you won’t be disappointed with her plans. I can’t wait to see her photography come on leaps and bounds too which it already has!

They didn’t know Brighton very well so I gave them a whistle stop tour – it was so, so much fun hanging out with these two in the sunshine. My job officially rocks!

Kate and Ben were married in a beautiful church in Hanover (where most of my favourite pubs are!) and had a camper van take them down to the Coach House for their Owl & the Pussycat themed reception.

Meet Laura – I photographed her wedding last year and I knew I had to have her back to do a portrait shoot with me. Laura has a story and all I’ll say is I probably shouldn’t have been in a restaurant when I picked up Laura’s email reaction to the sneak on the left!

Massive, massive thanks to Louisa Bush for her amazing hair and make up skills and to Justin for hanging out with us and generally being a star! Thanks also to the Good Companions pub in Brighton for providing an awesome shoot venue.

We met in my favourite Brighton coffee haunt, Small Batch and then hit the streets of Brighton. It was absolutely chucking it down but Rachel & Jack were nothing but ace in front of the camera. Lovely to meet you both!

Their wedding was immense – a ceremony in one of my favourite venues – the Duke of York’s cinema, one of the oldest cinema’s in the country. And then they had a reception at The Basement which is an art and theatre venue in Brighton. They told me they had just fallen in love with the exposed brickwork and basement feel. I could see why!

I think it’s fair to say this is one of the most difficult weddings I’ve shot lighting wise as their wedding was in November and both venues had little natural light and a lot of red (any photographer will tell you that’s tough!) but I’m really happy with the end set of images!

Amy’s dress is from Ghost, isn’t it incredible?!

Hotel du Vin makes for an amazing intimate wedding venue – it’s light, airy and right by the seafront. Love!

Nick and Nekka are so cute together – but that didn’t stop Nekka rolling her eyes at me when Nick stopped for a Leica geek out with a guy on the seafront. Haha! Love it!

I’ve just picked up some prints from a gallery that used to stock and sell my images and I’m offering them at a very special price. They are 10″ x 15″ silk prints mounted and wrapped. The mount size is 16″ x 20″.

These were being sold at £25 but I’m offering for £10 plus £5 postage. Bargain! The reason for this is that they’re no longer part of a series and were limited edition. They range from Brighton scenes, a shot at The Tate and a few of singer Andrya Triana. They’d be excellent for a last minute Christmas pressie.

So, how absolutely amazing does Amy look in her Ghost dress? Also, loved their exposed brick Basement reception venue set in the heart of Brighton’s North Laine. Both venues lent themselves perfectly to a bit of grit. Oooh, I love a bit of grit, me.

I got together with Brad and Katie just a week before their wedding to do their ‘engagement shoot’ or warm up shoot as I prefer to refer to it as! I actually find the closer to the wedding the shoot is the more effective it is as a practice tool. The couple remember the poses and we still feel familiar when we see each other on the wedding day.

I can’t wait to show you more of their wedding day but in the meantime I hope you enjoy these winter Brighton scenes x

Ok, not really, you know it wouldn’t be a post from me without a bit of rambling and gushing.

I had a text message from Ben the night before this shoot that read ‘Have you ever tried shooting in the Sea Life Centre?’. Yes! That is the kind of text I want to receive from a couple. It was absolutely hammering it down all morning so we did venture into the house of fish, no flash allowed so we had to make use of what light there was. We then hit the beach, would have been rude not to!

This was the first test run of my new lens too, ahhhhh…. new toy. What do you reckon? Worth not eating much for the month? ;)
