Phuong and Mike have been doing a lot of travelling and having shoots with photographers in some of the places they visit. So brilliant! We spent a few hours on a whistle stop tour of Brighton, starting at The Set as they stayed at The Artist's Residence. Mike has a special love for the street art of Brighton and we sought some of his favourite artists out for photos in front of it. Follow their travels on Phung's blog here.
Morning! I am so in love with Brighton at the moment, the Fringe and the festival just finished and the streets get pretty buzzy when when the sun comes out too. So I loved showing the rather brilliant Alison and James around this crazy little place they called a city. How perfectly are they demonstrating on how to dress for a couple shoot?
The rain is pounding on the studio roof today so it only seems fitting that I blog these images today. The rain pounded down at Ridge Farm while I taught my bootcamp for Photography Farm. I had planned to shoot mostly indoors hoping to inspire the attendants with shooting in low light. However, the weather didn't give us much choice but to shoot inside for the whole time and I had to think on my feet and find what available light there was and utilise it the best we good.
Hannah and Nick are getting married this year and I'm shooting their wedding. I was so made up when they said they'd love to come along and be my models for my bootcamp. So though you can't see it here, while most of these images were shot there were also 5 other people in the room shooting around me. I hope this shows what intimate portraits you can achieve in any situation!
A huge thank you also to the wonderful and talented make up superhero Nicky at Pretty Pout for providing make up on the day, Hannah is beautiful anyway but the camera loved Nicky's expertise!
I was doing a one to one session last week and my couple rearranged their engagement shoot so Anna and Thomas very kindly stepped in for us! Anna is also a photographer and her and her boyfriend Thomas moved to Brighton just a few months ago. Thomas had to go back to work after a we hits the loos (haha!) so we did a few portraits of Anna flying solo! Loving the laughter in these pics! Michelle, who I was having the one to one with also posted some images which you can see here.
Thanks again Anna & Thomas!
I do a lot of couple sessions in Brighton and I do love it so but Jane & Ivo live near me so we met for a drink before doing some quick photos at London Road Station which is a little out of town and off the beaten track. I'm in a black and white mood today, that might because I was considering putting the heating on ON THE THIRD OF JULY. But then I'm always in a black and white mood!
Can't wait to shoot these two's Brighton wedding in a few weeks.
I met with Jon & Kyley on a Monday morning after a fairly hectic weekend and the minute I walked through the door, their energy and clear love for each other just immediately breathed sunshine into my week! They didn't know Brighton very well so I gave them a whistle stop tour - it was so, so much fun hanging out with these two in the sunshine. My job officially rocks!
Cannot WAIT to shoot your wedding you pair... bring it on! x
